I am excited to share that I’m joining Geerz for a 2-day charity bike ride this March! Unlike many here, I didn’t fall in love with riding as a kid. For most of the past 12 years, I was a long-distance runner, riding only “off-season” in Israel’s summer heat. But this year, cycling became a lifeline as I recovered from gastro-oesophageal cancer, diagnosed at the end of 2023. A year ago, I was still mostly wheelchair-bound. My recovery has been gradual, and riding has played a big part in it.After months in hospital and being house-bound, I deeply appreciate every moment outdoors — the wind, the sun, and the beauty of Hashem’s world. Geerz runs life-changing therapeutic mountain biking programs for kids in Israel facing social, psychological challenges, and PTSD—especially those displaced from during the war. Thanks to donations, Geerz expanded to 10 new Youth Villages this year, reaching hundreds more kids. Let’s keep this incredible momentum going! The cost of the program is $1,800 per kid, I have taken it upon myself to sponsor 2 kids this year.
