As a young boy, I remember loving to ride my bike around the neighbourhood. At 7, I got a rare hip disease. With my parents’ help and some minor changes to my bike, I still managed to keep riding. It gave me the freedom and the self-confidence that came with being able to get around on my own. I rode my bike to and from elementary school and to middle school. I even commuted to university on my bike.I competed in 100-mile bike races, a few triathlons and in my 30s, I rode by bike 12,000 kilometres (7,500 miles) through 25 countries. As a young boy, I remember loving to ride my bike around the neighbourhood. At 7, I got a rare hip disease. With my parents’ help and some minor changes to my bike, I still managed to keep riding. It gave me the freedom and the self-confidence that came with being able to get around on my own.

I rode my bike to and from elementary school and to middle school. I even commuted to university on my bike.

Now, I want to help raise money for the Geerz.
