By riding with us or supporting a Geerz Rider, you equip at-promise youth with critical life skills learned through mountain biking, away from their screens and out on the open trails of Israel. They combine physical activity, team-building, and problem-solving, take on challenges, and handle frustration. They have the drive… all they need is the equipment. That’s why your donation goes directly to bikes, helmets, gloves, and hydration packs for these teens and pre-teens. Your donation will help them pay to enter the Geerz program so that even youth from low-income families have the opportunity to climb.

 

Geerz teaches Israeli youth empowerment - without medication, without critique, without humiliation. We demonstrate every day that learning to mountain bike boosts a child’s self-esteem with a healthy, constructive release and the realization that he or she has the power to create a path to confidence and achievement.

The Get Into Geerz Two-Day Ride is one of a kind. That is because this is the only ride of its kind. The mountain bike trails in Israel can compete with the trail word-wide. Making new friends and professional contacts who are like minded is a true benefit to consider. Joining a charity mountain biking ride for an organization that teaches Israeli youth critical life skills while on mountain bikes is an innovative concept. The ride is fully supported and classy, yet at the same time rugged and tons of fun. 

It is not necessary for adults to get a form signed by a Doctor- however All riders must read carefully and sign the electronic Health Declaration form- appearing on website during registration process.

This ride is for everyone. The Get Into Geerz Two-Day Ride has six different tracks: beginner, intermediate, and advanced level routes plus an all new gravel route. All riders will have a great time while also being challenged. There is plenty of technical single track if you are looking for that while other routes are based on gorgeous undulating jeep trails.  The Get Into Geerz  Ride will challenge every rider on every level with a sense of satisfaction both mentally and physically.

The Get Into Geerz Two-Day Ride is a mountain biking experience. We only ride off-road. One needs to have a mountain bike with at least a front shock and 21 gears. While there are many different levels of mountain bikes, we recommend a mouuntain bike that is in very good working order and that can handle at the very least 60 km of biking trails over a two-day period. If one is unsure as to the level or condition of their mountain bike, we can help you make that determination.

Training for The Get Into Geerz Two-Day Ride really depends on your current fitness level.  If you consider yourself out of shape, and rarely do cardiovascular exercise - we suggest at least a three month plan prior to the ride. If one regularly practices high intensity cardiovascular exercise, than six weeks should be plenty of time to ready yourself for the ride. It will be our pleasure to have a Geerz staff member help you create your fundraising page and provide you a formletter that you can personalize and send to friends and relatives. With our help we are confident that you will reach your fundraising goal. 

However, we understand is you are hesitant to commit because you fear not reaching your goal. If, and we mean if this happens, we will work out an arrangement that is agreeable to both you and Geerz. 

Once registered with a non-refundable $100 registration fee, your spot in the Get Into Geerz Two-Day Ride is reserved. Riders are committing themselves to raise or pay (give or get) a minimum of $3,600. We will provide you with the tools needed to reach out to your friends, family and coleagues for sponsorship and support. If your employer has a gift matching program, please let us know so that we can determine how this might be able to boost your fundraising efforts.

You will be pleasantly surprised to see that fundraising for Geerz is not difficult and it is even fun! Once you sign up, you'll gain access to lots of proven fundraising tips and ideas which will help you fundraise amongst your family, friends, business associates, etc. When people hear about your undertaking and dedicated commitment to Geerz and the wonderful organization it is, they are very supportive and receptive to making a donation.

It is extremely easy to make donations with the Get Into Geerz website (website link) using any major credit card. Checks may be mailed to the Geerz office together with the check processing form which you can download on the website (on the left side menu when logged in). Cash donations must be dropped off directly at the Geerz office, along with your information.
